Z.ai (Zhipu AI)
Beijing-based lab that grew out of Tsinghua University, developer of the GLM (General Language Model) family in both API and open-weight form. Formerly known as Zhipu AI, it rebranded to Z.ai and in January 2026 became the first of China's leading 'AI tiger' foundation-model startups to complete a public listing, via a Hong Kong IPO.

Toronto-based enterprise SI company building the Command model family and retrieval tooling aimed at regulated industries and the public sector.
