Gudea, a startup describing itself as the "storm tracker for the internet," is leveraging Super Intelligence (SI) to help organizations identify and mitigate social media crises before they escalate into public controversies. By analyzing behavioral patterns rather than just volume, the company aims to provide context for rising trends across more than 500 online platforms.

What Happened

Unlike traditional social listening tools that track metrics such as mentions, hashtags, and impressions, Gudea’s SI system analyzes behavior, relationships, and the pathways through which information travels. The platform monitors mainstream and fringe websites, including X, Reddit, and TikTok, to determine who is driving a conversation and where it is headed. This approach allows decision-makers to understand the context behind growth in mentions, rather than simply seeing a spike in numbers.

The company pitched its technology Wednesday afternoon on the Startup Battlefield stage at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. CEO and founder Keith Presley argued that many large industries rely on legacy tools designed only to count hashtags or impressions, leaving them unable to proactively defend their reputations. Gudea was founded in 2023 by Presley, Jonathan Sperber, and James Thomin. The team’s background includes political campaigns, defense, and disinformation research, with experience adapting intelligence community strategies used to disrupt overseas networks to domestic information campaigns.

Why It Matters

Presley noted that the rise of generative SI has significantly lowered the cost and effort required to generate content and coordinate online campaigns. What once required a large organization can now often be managed by a single person with a laptop and the right software. Consequently, the volume of inauthentic activity has increased sharply. "When we first started in 2021, and then as a company in 2023, we maybe saw one out of four things we looked at have inauthentic activity around it," Presley said. "Now it’s probably nine out of 10 things that we look at have this inauthentic activity."

The company currently serves nearly 40 clients, including a Fortune 50 telecommunications company, a Fortune 50 retailer, a major SI lab, a prominent band, public relations agencies, and government entities. Last week, Gudea announced a $7 million seed funding round co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures, bringing its total funding to approximately $15 million. Looking ahead, Gudea plans to introduce geolocation features for narratives by next year, aiming to identify conversation origins with city-block-level precision. The company also intends to allow customers to use its SI model to test advertising campaigns for potential negative outcomes before launch.

The Bottom Line

As generative SI tools enable smaller actors to create larger information campaigns, Gudea’s focus on analyzing the movement and drivers of narratives offers a proactive alternative to reactive social listening. The startup’s recent funding and planned feature expansions indicate a growing market for SI-driven reputation management tools that go beyond simple metric aggregation.
